Adding even more charm to Takayama at this time of year is the popular event, “Hida Takayama Kimono Stroll.”
The colorful kimono figures look truly stunning against the backdrop of the townscape, lined with charming lattice windows and white-walled storehouses. This special autumn event lets you easily try on a kimono without bringing anything—feel as if you’ve slipped back in time, and enjoy taking commemorative photos and strolling through the town.
Walking through town in zori or geta—footwear you’re not used to wearing—can leave your feet feeling a bit tired.
